My New Take on Holiday Minis!
I’ll admit it — I wasn’t too gung-ho about holiday sessions this year. For weeks, I couldn’t figure out why I was in a funk. Then it hit me: I’d forgotten why I do these sessions in the first place.
To make it cliché — I forgot the reason for the season. It’s not just about pretty photos or holiday cards; it’s about celebrating love, family, friendship, peace, and all those warm, fuzzy feelings that remind us what really matters.
If you’re like me, maybe you’re not quite in the holiday spirit yet — especially with everything going on in the world and the fact that we don’t start preparing for the holidays until much later. But here’s the thing: things do get brighter. So this season, I want to invite you to join me in creating something magical.
This year’s holiday minis are all about Tradiciones (“Traditions”) — the smells of cinnamon and wintergreen, the cozy colors of warm browns and soft greens, the laughter in the kitchen, the stories that come from making a mess while baking cookies. Whether you grew up with certain traditions or you’re starting new ones, this experience is about celebrating those meaningful, imperfect, joy-filled moments.
What would it look like to recreate childhood memories with your kids or your parents? To laugh over gingerbread disasters or flour-covered hands? Messy, yes — but those are the moments that turn into core memories for you and your family.
So this year, I’m turning my holiday minis upside down. We’re not just taking photos — we’re creating Tradiciones.

For me, I might just recreate an old photo with my sister. Every year for Christmas, we’d raid my dad’s closet and put on his oversized sweater vests and jackets — laughing the entire time. It’s one of those small, silly traditions that still makes me smile thinking about it, and maybe this year, it’s time to bring it back.
